WinMX problem
I've been using WinMX for a few weeks now with no problems but now when I am downloading a large file or waiting to download something my computer will get blocked from the internet.
Everything on the computer works fine except internet pages which now come up "cannot find server".
It also kicks me off of MSN Messenger and if I attempt to sign in a MSN box comes up saying "It looks like you are behind a Firewall which is preventing you from signing in".
If I turn off the computer and leave it for a couple hours and come back and reboot it will work fine again.
This is my home computer. I have Norton and I use Adaware and Spybot regularly.
Any ideas?

I have had similiar issue as well, but then if I went into safe mode with networking on Xp of coures everything would work fine.... then outta no where it started working fine in normal mode as well.... not sure what the hell went on but something slightly changed, if your using any firewalls disable them both reboot sytem with them off and see if you get the same problem if not then you need to check ur firewall settings...

winmx is a great program, but it works best with dsl.i downloaded it from winmx.com,but my dumba$$ brother keeps on installing kazaa. Damn 'puters needed to be reloaded due to his attempt to network them
I use cable but so does my friend who has no problems using WinMX. I'll try those suggestions, thanks.
I thought Kazaa causes pop-ups and other issues which is why I didn't use it. Am I wrong?
