Yeah I picked up a 1/2" 48*48 sheet which was more then plenty I had then cut it down the middle and still have 1/2 the sheet left, all I have is the top/bottom pieces to cut and I am done. Just gotta sand it all down smoothin it up then find material to cover it... Whats the stuff they use on normal house speaker Vinyl or something along that... trying to find it here in london but can't think of what it's called...

Yeah, right now it's a mess lol.. once there both built proper, gonna sand it all down fill in the screw holes clean it up, then Vinyl it or whatever that material is called... then I will take a pic lol... But as per pervious do I leave it as sealed box or should I port it? What will I benefit from using Ported/Sealed?

Thanks

It depends on what is the recomended speaker volume and box design for the mids...

That's the thing, it's Kickers I emaild them and never got any response back... and on there specs pdf doesn't say a volume size, I mean if it's designed for free air and fits in the door there is probably more air then in a box, so that's why I am thinking maybe a port, but if so does it matter where it's placed back/front etc etc

If you plan on mounting them very close (or on) the wall you will want to port them on the front baffle.

Port size will depend on:
Internal volume (subtracting for driver and port displacment
and desired tuning freq.

**estimation only**Based upon the measurmemts you gave I estimate the internal volume to be 0.3 cubic feet. Tuned to 125hz you would need 1 3" wide port that is only 1.86 inches long. **estimation only**

Also keep in mind that you do not want the tunning freq to be at or below the -3dB point of the driver.

I would experiment with different sized ports until you find what sounds best.

Yeah, they would be mounted on stands cause would be to bulky on the wall unless hung from the ceiling which is to damn high... now as for tunning you said "estimation only" is 125hz way to high? I don't know alot about the frequency ranges and what not, what would be typically acceptable? When I go home I will get the exact box size, and if you could just give me a hand to try and tune it as close as possible to the acceptable rang that would appreicated!, that's the only spot I would really need a 2nd hand with basically! As for the -3db part how would I know if it was or not? What's the easiest way possible to assure that I don't do this....

Thanks again for the info!
