Is this worth buying?

Hi. I found this on this forum:

is this worth buying at all, i know squat about the car alarms and what not.... so please help on this one...

This is 2 or 3 years old, but reliable (with a good install), good shock sensor, about 1000-1500 ft range.

depending who is gunna put it in some shops charge more for product that you didnt buy from them and finding parts if you break a remote might be a little harder depending where ya go. so somtimes it ends up being cheaper buying everything from one place.

well i was going to install it myself- i can get specific instruction on how to do it... right now i fixed my old alarm, and bought this one, so i dont really need it and i'm trying to get some of my money back by selling it a bit cheaper, if i wont get any offers I will just upgrade the old one....
