XM Radio
I have no idea if aftermarket decks have the ability to show digital broadcast info from radio stations, but any XM or Sirius ready head unit will im sure(99%) show the info of the current selection. Of course a buddy of mine had a Kenwood video unit that didnt but Im not sure if he had that configured right(as he bought the vehicle with it already in it). I know 100% for sure that my XM Commander and Clarion 920 displays have it

You need a tuner and antenna for XM to work on your Alpine deck. I'd recommend finding one of the Alpine tuners on ebay or Caround, used. They stopped making these as Terk is making XM Direct, a multi-purpose tuner that only needs an adaptor to work any specific aftermarkter deck. The signal is very strong in Canada trust me. A Canadian CC will work, I think. But it's easiest of you know someone in the US that will subscribe yours, and just pay them once a year. Commerical free music is very nice and al lthe other programming. It's nice to listen to the Comedy, Talk, sports channels when your driving tired. I've only ever gotten dropouts when park directly on the north side of a building.
