I have an eclipse deck and I have locked it using a CD. The only problem now is have sold my car and want to take the deck out, and the original CD that I locked it with was stolen out of the car. Do I need the original CD to unlock it or can I just go out and buy the CD?

I remeber being told that I had to have original CD that I locked it with to unlock the deck, because it remebers any scracthes or inperfections. Is this true? If so I guess the deck is staying in the car...LOL

 

Mine worked with any copy of the same cd!

on the cd it needs to have the same # (lot) so if you get the cd and it have the same # on it ,it will work ,most cd's have the same # form that arts cd but there are some out there like pink floyd the wall thay have run more then 1 run of that cd

 

As far as our experience being an Eclipse authorized repair centre in Canada, you may still able to unlock your headunit with an identical CD used/ programmed. Reason: eclipse headunits uses or reads the title/tracks information of the "key cd" as a security code. CD-r may only work with some models and not all. If this substitute CD still wont work after trying for more than 5 times - the unit will become completely lock and the only way of doing it is to input some code (only applies with 2000 and current model) or refer to unlocking procedure which can be downloaded from our website at www.s-selectronics.com or contact us at 1-866-489-8934 or 647-435-5980.
