hey a friend got 2 of these pioneer TS-SW1241D 12 inch subs and they say that they are dual 4 ohm but each sub only has 1 positive and 1 negitive terminal so i coudlnt figure out how to wire them both together to get 1 ohm or am i just missing something i dont know if someone could explain to me how you wire 1 ohm with just that please let me know its being a headache thanks

If there is only one set of terminals then its only a single voice coil sub, unless its broken off or something, lol. Just use a multimeter to double check its ohm rating. If its a 4 ohm sub it wont be exactly 4 ohms, the meter measures dc resistance and it might be like 3.5 or something. Just wire them in parallel to load it down as close to 1 ohm as possible. Connect all the positive and negative terminals together. I sometimes even like to measure the speaker wires right before I connect them to the amp, so I know for sure what ohm rating the amp "sees."

PS If the amp only sees 2ohms instead of 1, then it will only output half its power. But at least it wont overheat, haha.

Correct model number for the single voice coil version is TS-W1241C. As mentioned above those woofers were only availible in single 4 ohm and dual 4 ohm variations.

I had one back in the day. One of my favourite subs I've ever owned.

Now I'm curious.....what kind of multimeter do you have that doesn't have an impedance section?....
