A world record holder forgot to tell us the sub, amp, space, and goal.

lol - my bad...

i am using star sound 12s 5212... starsound 5z amp...

specs can be viewed here: Competition

this stuff is very similiar to cactus equipment...

the cargo area is 950 x 400 x 400... estimated but will get exact measurements.

well my goal is a 155dbs street b setup with the starsound 5z which is rated 3000rms

please let me know if anything else is required

Those aren't t/s specs, not that you really need them. 3000W on 2 12's @ 67hz doesn't seem like it'd hit 155. It surprizes me how much power, cone & port area, a high tuning, deadening, and other stuff it takes to get 153+. Whatever you had for a 152.5, you'll need to either double the power or cone area for (maybe) another 3db. Why'd you use millimeters lol? You have about 15.75" x 15.75" x 37", or around 3 cubes which is too little. For 12s, for SPL, on 1500W each, you might want to consider 3 cubes per sub and re-think your space alltogether. Do a mean wall with a really good 18".

nice car, put some pics up form the last setup...

rbgnwa45 I think that volume would be fine, was the same volume of the box I used in the panda last WF for 71Hz.

Okay, higher tune = less space. At 67hz you probably won't even need a port wall = more space. I vote walled BTL 18 on 3k in 4-6 cubes and a lot of port area.

http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31

4 cf3
port 8 x 16/128 square inches (32 sq.in. per cube)
66.78HZ
vent length 2" (baffle length)

I wish i had 18s...

the pic that you posted is similar to the car i have - only it is a stationwagon.

for an spl box... what cubic feet should i be lookin at for the 12s.

guys here are doing 160s with 2 7kw amps in the similar car.

Worthy SPL 18's are as cheap as $200+shipping. A wall is going to be the loudest. Use between 2-2.5 cubes per 12. Two 7kw amps are what, $2500-$3500? Then you've got 6+ batteries ($750-$1500). Those SD 8kd's do rated power at like 8v? though, very efficient. Still very expensive.
