Hey guys

I recently was installing a few decks that i got sitting around in my 2002 Accent. The stock cd player is a clarion one which is nice but i needed some more control. I have an RFX 8250ti i installed it and notice a fair bit of static even when the volume is at 0. I also get startup thumb from my sub. I'm using stinger bullet series rca's going to Arc audio kar series amps. As soon as i install the stock deck every thing works fine. Should i try grounding the rca's?

Any suggestions would be great thanks

I also have the 8250Ti....I use a Ground loop isolator because if I don't I have the same problems as you do. Do you also have altenator whine through the system? I had the same problem with my car.....actually everything worked fine when I was using my Clarion 9255, then I changed the ground going to the deck and I grounded to a bolt near the glove box and everything went to hell from there.

I will attempt again and try to change the ground i was using the factory ground. Also did u run a power line from the battery for the deck or did u just use the factory one?

I used the stock one because I used a harness kit.

Running power to the deck from the battery seems like needless work unless you have a serious problem with the factory wire.

When I come across a problem like the pop or the static, it's usually a ground issue. I have the same deck, but never had that problem. You can try a ground loop isolator... it'll probably fix the problem, but they tend to drop the sq a bit. With regards to grounding the rca's... it's worth a try, but check the other grounds first. Last resort, isolator. &gt

I agree ChinaMan
Make sure the deck has a good connection to chassis ground.

I tried grounding the chasis, that didn't seem to help. I did notice that when i only connect my front set of rca's that it would be fine, as soon as i connected the rear it would begin to bring static into the line and the turn on thump. I'm not sure how to ground rca's if someone can give me some tips that would be great. Lastly i will resort to the groud isolator
