Started out as a stolen deck...

Well, I started to type in my story, but it got a little long...
its still kinda long... so, ah, long story short(er), my origional JVC deck got stolen.
I liked my origional JVC deck, so I got anouther one.(diff model, as old one is now EOL)

I had nothing but problems with this new deck, the sound kept cutting out(the wiring is all good)
Took it back to the place of purchase, they removed the deck from the vehical, and tried to test the deck.
(its only two months old at this point)

The deck blew up while the STORE MANAGER tried to test it in thier display board.
He refused to replace it, claims its a manufacturing defect, handed me the burnt out deck, a waranty card, and kicked out one pissed off customer!!

After 3 warranty repair trips and (a total of) 8 months without a deck, JVC agreed to replace the deck.
Pick up your waranty replacement at place of purchase. Doh!! But they blew up the first one!!
I went in to pick it up, AND THEY SOLD IT!! THEY SOLD MY WARRANTY ISSUED REPLACEMENT DECK!!!
(And they sold it for more then I paid for it almost two years ago!!)

The store says they will replace the deck with a new 2007 model, but it's a lower grade model, without all the features/functions the old deck had,
and thats just not acceptable. Plus it wont be in stock for atleast another month!!

I informed JVC of the store selling the waranty replacement deck, and they don't seem to care...(??)
I told them that they are BADLY representing JVC by selling the warranty replacement deck...
Still, they don't care, they honered the waranty, they did thier part, I must deal with the store.

So a quick run down:
The deck purchased Aug 2005
Its been in for warranty work 3 times
I've been with out a deck for a total of 10 months now
JVC doesn't seem to care
One of the managers blew up the deck, and refuses to replace it
The other manager called me a 'Bad customer', and doesn't care "cuz your just ONE '

Well, after that responce from the manager, I desided to discuse this issue with friends from around the world(and here in town!!)
I also made a T-Shirt that I can proudly wear, please see attachment.

I'll get my customer satisfaction yet!

Thanx for listening.

One day I was looking for a fuse, so instead of going to Speed of sound with is 20 minutes away from my house, I went to Sound Solutions. When I walked into the store a 70 year old man ask me if he could help me, I was like WTF, so I said I need a new fuse. so he started to tell me that my system must be crap if I’m blowing fuses, so Some other Taliban looking guy ( owner ) got into it as well... so after a good 15 minute chat, They came to the conclusion, that my 2006 Kicker L7 needed replacing,,, and that my IVA310 was not a good deck... so Im saying to myself, these people are off their meds.

So the 70 year old man comes back after his 15 minute journey to find this 80 amp fuse and said that will be 6.99 + tax I almost pissed my pants laughing, and then left the store... so I went to Speed of Sound were they Sold me a 120 amp Circuit breaker for 10$ instead... and solved my problems… so it goes to show some shops are filled with idiots and other have people that know their stuff…
Sound Solution is worst then Future Shop... and Future Shop is last on my list of places to go.

Ian

Small claims court... they were responsible for your property, they lost/sold it, and they refuse to compensate you properly.

Also a BBB complaint, and a call to the Police might help... they in effect deprived you of your property, it isn't up to them alone to decide how to compensate you. IMO you should be getting full retail on your original deck in cash.

Considering how ignorant the old man is, this does not surprise me in the least.

Well, I entered a BBB complaint tonight.
This is what I said:
The Service Manager, Bruce Eshtiaghi origionally blew up the stereo and refused to replace it. The stereo went under warranty 3 times, JVC finally offered me a credit due to too many warranty returns. JVC placed my credit to the origional place of purchase, Sound Solutions. I went to Sound Solutions to recieve my credit from JVC. A total missunderstanding occured, and Sound Solutions sold my warranty replacement to somebody else. Sound Solutions can not replace the origional deck(says the warranty deck was last one) They refuse to refund my origional purchase price(after Ken, the owner, agreed to due so) they also refuse to replace the deck with an equal value deck(a deck with the same features and functions) Sound Solutions has offered a lower model deck, of a newer model year, but it has less features/functions then the origional deck. (which is unacceptable)
This is how I'm asking the issue to be resolved:
I want a full 100% refund, as I will not accept the offered replacement deck with less functions or features then my origionally purchased deck.
The BBB asks to have 30 days to respond, so the wait and frustration continues.

Failing this, Small claims will be next.

Thanx guys!

The BBB is pretty toothless, and if he's that ignorant I doubt he'll respond to it.

You should ask the BBB if they have other complaints against this place.

Nothing wrong with calling the police and asking if they can open a file or not. Thinking about it, they might not be willing/able to get involved but it's worth a shot.

Oh, and please spell check/edit before you submit a complaint... 6 spelling mistakes and a hard to follow story hurts your credibility and chances of resolution.

My spelling has always been bad. Yes, I should have spell checked.
As for the story, its a long one, and needed to be shortened, and keep as accurate as possible.
Heres the BBB listing for Sound Solutions.

if I don't get any satisfaction through the BBB, I'll go to the police. then small claims.

Police will tell you it is a civil matter, as such, there is nothing that they can do. BBB are toothless and cannot do anything. Small Claims is the only course of action, it will cost you the filing fees but will 100% guarantee the satisfaction that you want. Once this satisfaction has been gained (pending that the side of the story you present is accurate and theirs is not), then you can tell the BBB that the issue has been resolved.

One of two things are going to happen, they are going to agree with your claim and pay you in full or product in lieu of. Meaning the price you originally paid + all court charges. Or they are going to fight you in court if they have a different perspective on the story. From what you have said, it seems rather cut and dry but there are always two sides to every story.

Here's what I would do.

Get a billboard done up and sit in the parking lot on public property in front of the store every Saturday. Hand out flyers to people who seem like they might be headed into the store.

Eventually you'll cost them enough business that they'll have to silence you.

Make sure you keep it true though. Use a bull horn too!!! If it's warm out, make it a party and give out free lemonade!!!

Had an experience like this out front of a car dealership years ago over a few hundred bucks.

100% effective
