Stolen Victoria, B.C.

My Infinity REF610a amp and Sub Box and Rockford DVC-12 all got stolen recently, any news let me know, lol

I also had a question. My stereo was stolen out of my car and I went to the claim centre. Now, they priced the gross of it at $590 and my Deductible is $300 leaving a Net of $290.

If I buy a $300 amplifier (what was stolen) do I get anything back from ICBC or ?
What if I buy an amplifier under the $300, say for $200, not even reaching my Deductible do I get anything back?

I don't understand how the deductible works?

thanks

Dan

If I spend $400 on an amplifier, do I get anything back from ICBC?

ICBC won't care what you buy, they will only pay the 290 difference from the original quote. anything over and above is your responsibility

Not entirely accurate. If the item is a current model, you are obligated to get the same model once again. The reason for this is to discourage fraudulent claims, "my stereo got stolen" for example should read as "I am tired of this amp, why doesn't it get removed by someone for me so that I can have ICBC get me a new one that I want". If the model is not available, ICBC will seek out the closest replacement to it for you. In some cases, they may allow you to pay a $ difference for a upgrade but this is few and far between these days.
