if the rule of your box being 25' tall has not been changed since last year then ONLY the box can be 25" tall but you can put anything under to prop it up and you are still within the rules as long as the box is not connected to whatever is under it! IF you want an example Kelly Derver in stock 3 did this at World Finals! the box height from the floor was over 30" but the actual box itself was 24" tall. the head judge looked at it and so did the guy that wrote the rule book both said it was fine.

Lee, the rule has changed in Advanced class... seats can be removed for competition, so you can take your seats out and compete. It will not put you in Ultimate class, and if anyone tells you different, you have them contact me and I'll set them straight on the rule; after all, I wrote it!

The rule reads: "In Advanced division, seats may be removed for testing. However, the seats that are to be removed for testing must be in the vehicle when driven into the judging lane(s); they can be removed once the vehicle is staged in the judging lane(s)."

Shocking, in the rule it states that the enclosure must be in the OEM cargo area of the vehicle; if there's a floor cut out then the vehicle no longer has a stock cargo area and the vehicle moves into Advanced division and the appropriate class.

Concept, the rule has been revised to eliminate that happening. Notice that the rule states "25 inches from the floor of the cargo area to the top of the enclosure"; if they add "legs" to prop up the box to ANY height above 25 inches, then the vehicle does not meet the criteria required for Stock division. That is new for this year. I remember the situation you're talking about and that's one of the reasons I revised the rule, so that it eliminates any possibility of that situation coming up again. There's no ifs, ands or buts, if the box is higher than 25 inches from the FLOOR of the OEM CARGO AREA to the TOP OF THE BOX, it is not "legal" to compete in Stock division. The person who's box is in question must either lower the height of the box according to the rule to remain in Stock division OR move up to Advanced.

What happened at the Finals last year was a very unfortunate incident... I had a similar thing happen to me. After being tied at 169.9 after two rounds, I thought we were going to have a tie breaker for first. Unfortunately, the same two people you're talking about decided that because I had hit .4 dB lower in my second run than the other guy did, I lost and took second. But that wasn't the rule, we were supposed to go to a tie breaker. That didn't happen and you all know the results.

The point I'm trying to make with this is those two people no longer have a say in IASCA and IdBL, BECAUSE of the mistakes they made. Their responsibilities with IdBL were turned over to me and I can assure you that those kinds of "situations" will not happen again. On that you have my word.
