The Shawnessy location in Calgary, AB is having an SPL competition on August 3rd. I will most likely be attending. If you see me, come over and say hi. I'll be in a white Jeep YJ with the following system:

Alpine CDA-9811 MP3/CD Deck
Alpine Type S 4x6" 2-way Coaxial (front)
Alpine Type S 6x9" 3-way Coaxial (rear)
Alpine Type S 12" 4-ohm Subwoofer (x2)
Sony 1200w Mono Channel Amplifier
Rockford Fosgate Capacaior (1 farad)
Dual 12" Ported Sub Box

It's not that great of a system, but it's good enough for me and I'm just curious to what numbers I can hit with it. When I bought this system, I had no intentions of going into competitions.

I don't know if I will be competing as my speakers are giving me some problems. They seem to be cracking when I play them loud. I posted this on the CarAudio.com forums and they said that it's probably a pinched wire.

I'm going down to Sounds Around on Saturday to get them to look at it. Either way I will be there with my Jeep, but I may not be competing.

I might even just unplug my speakers and play my subs.

 

Is this a db drag sanctioned event??
