well looks like unfortunately i might be tappin out of the competition. just found out my hours are litterally being cut in half starting next week...

we will have to see what the union has to say about that crap tho.... its retarded when a company complains cus a guy makes like 3 hours of OT a week and busts his ***** for the company, but they dont say a thing when a guy whos makin twice as much is workin like 10+ hours of OT a week just cus hes a driver...... someones bout to get pimpslapped in that company.....

so like i said, as it stands i can afford to compete tomorrow, but it could negatively effect the chances of me say paying a bill, or eating a decent meal in a week and a half, i gotta see if im willing to take that risk....

Dammit 8TRACK!!! If only I read this post before I went to today's event! I would have got that picture of your car. Anyways, it was a fun day. I left at around 3:00pm because I had **** to do and I knew I wasn't gonna win any thing.

132.8 dB in my Jeep is good enough. Anyone know if the mics were low? It was the first time I ever tested out my Jeep, so I don't know what to expect.

Anyways, my 1st run was 132.4 dB off of the remix of I'm A Slave 4 U by Britney Spears. My 2nd run was 132.8 dB off a Bass Mekanik track.

Anyways, anyone know the numbers for the 1st place finishes (of all classes)? I have pics of the show cars that were there too if anyone wants them.

yea the mics were a bit tight yesterday, but by how much depends on who u ask, i think in the end they finished within about 2.5db,

alot of people were comparing them to the mic at auto temp saying A&Bs mic was 14db low the first round, but they arent realizing that auto temps mic was about 8db or so high....

i finished within about 2.3db (low) of what i was averaging last year, so im sayin they were at least somewhat close at the end..,

i always laugh when a mic gives everyone a totally inflated score, and no one says a word even when they know they arent even close to 150s, but when the mic is 2-6db low everyone is ALLL over it lol "well i was doin 150+ last week......" but they fail to mention it was on a HOT mic lol


oh and that 2db loss could have also been attributed to mic placement as well, like u cant compare a score from a show where a jig is used to place the mic by the windsheild, and a score from a show where the mic is basically put on your seat, and its not even the same placement in 2 runs let alone amoung different competitors
IE a seat in a civic is alot closer to the window then a seat in say a tahoe, closer still if the competitor realizes the possible advantage to moving his or her seat forward so the mic is that much closer to the windsheild...

and thats why sanctioned events use jigs.....keeps things on an even playing feild,

congrats on the 132.8 tho, jeeps are tough for SPL, lotsa flex and air leaks and whatnot, hence why u rarely see em in comps, good on ya anyway tho [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]
