Why would the site admins ban Jalat for expressing an opinion? This is a message board, people should be able to express whatever the hell they want. At least we like to THINK that they can.

So he puts up something NEGATIVE about the site. So what.
A smart admin would lock the thread for being "Off Topic" or move it to an un-seen section, such as this "Beef" section or better yet, properly address the user and ask "Okay, so what's the issue" ...
Or even better, let the thread percolate and see what comes up. Then take notes, make the site better and better yet, thicken the pockets of CCA.

So what the hell is wrong with that? And better yet, why ban the guy?
I don't think that's appropriate.

 

This site could go in so many different directions that would benefit the entire community.

They could take professional pictures at the events, just like it does on its other forums ...
They could offer staff on-hand to answer questions, kind of like PAS does as a magazine ...
Competitor profiles or reviews on events throughout the year, build some hype for the shows but also promote this site AT the shows (I've mentioned banners, on tables & cars AT the shows ... yet to see them, ever). No one knows about this site, even through a google search.
How about some banner ads for the members ... ever think of that?

There's 50 million things I can think of, rather than having this supported by eBay and now turning a GOOD classified into one over run by people selling "New" items ... what are they retailers? Official re-sellers? Or more eBay scams? Get a handle on that.

Anything else I can suggest for you guys?

 

Exactly. Why would they for only that?? Have you considered there may be more? There always is....

 

Professional pics? Who is paying the photographer? Everyone bitches and moans when any efforts are made to support this place let alone pay a professional photographer... At least Rick took some pics and posted them for the membership to see. Where are the pics you took of the last show??

Staff on hand. That would be me - only a PM or email away...

Competitor Profiles / Event Reviews. Go ahead, submit them. Oh - you mean you want someone ELSE to do them? Well, I guess everyone else does too...

Banner Ads. I am sure if you want to pony up for banner space for yourself that Rick will oblige. Lets see what you got.

Google. IF you ACTUALLY Google Car Audio, you will see that THIS site comes up SECOND, right after Wikipedia. If yer gonna spout, at least know what you are talking about...

For Sale Section. I just checked and exactly TWO items on the first page are advertised as new. Every other ad clearly says used. Again, if you're just going to make up, don't.

Suggestions. I have a suggestion for you - how about instead of trying to point out what is all wrong with the site, why not try to actually make it a better place for everyone?

its a beif sections is was made to beif, theres also rules as were stated talk ppl within the guide lines, and this is a gread sub forum, and long needed as there are 2 many cry babies talkin in good threads.
CCA I think is doing good, what I see as being a problem is when someone like myself comes on here and asks a noob question, sees 100 viewd my thread and theres 1 relpy and it says something like:
"how bout you do some research before posting another questions towards the same crap 30 other ppl asked about" you know or soemthing like that,,, well gee thanks alot tips, now how bout some useful info that can help my problem.
The beif section is what it is, dont like it dont read it!

I think you're missing my whole point. You get out what you put in.
This site essentially runs off its users. There's no website. There's a forum. That means it runs off the posts.
You (or whomever, I don't know the backbone of this website) runs this domain and everything about it. So therefore, I don't think you should expect freebies from its members. I use to post pictures, waste all of my time trying to get them on this forum ... the process has become easier (to post and host pictures) but there's no push for pictures. The section is weak so essentially it's going in "The After Thread", where I'm showing pictures to what ... 10 people? Forget it.
You guys should be using pictures as a form of promotion but I don't think anyone around here knows how to do that ...

What I meant by "Staff On Hand" was having a section ... like a "Ask Us" section if you will, let people submit questions and let "Experts" put in answers ... or better yet, why don't you guys come up with something that's google-worthy that BRINGS people to this site. Like, "How to install a stereo" ...
You SORTA have some threads stickied and going ... that other members have suggested ... but things like "How To Do The Big 3" and "What is the Big 3" would be a HUGE pull to this website. Pictures, step by step, the whole 9. Not here, people go elsewhere.

Yeah, I want someone else to do competitor profiles. You approach the competitors with a layout. You tell them hey, I'm interested in having you featured on our website, going to go on the front, people can click on your picture and learn about your car, what brought you to car audio and this website, etc etc ... again, you want ME (or someone else) to do the work for you. WHO RUNS THIS WEBSITE - NOT ME

Signature banner ads. I'm talking about flashing banners that people can put on Facebook and in my signature on this website and in my signature on all the other forums I go on ... instead of saying "Hey, I have this cool audio website, click these words" with a hyper link. No, give me a damn picture they can click on.

You think I'm making **** up about the Classified Section, your kidding yourself. I've had this conversation with other members already outside of this forum and they too agree, the classified section on this website is going to head downhill if nobody weeds out the fakes that are here.
When somebody multi posts day after day ... or has 8 new items for sale with stock photos ... I mean c'mon, I don't want to pull out SPECIFIC examples.
All I'm suggesting is that you guys moderate the classifieds. That's all.
And I won't post in it until there's a delete function. Until then, I take my business of selling my used stuff elsewhere (very rarely will I post ANYTHING on this website - sorry guys).

If I didn't give a f*ck about this website, I wouldn't spend 10 minutes typing this out. And that's more than I can say for 95% of your active member base that's on this website right now. So stop barking down my neck.
Again, no need to ban Jalat. No need to bark at me.

 

Contributing moderators could assist in this. If there was knowledgeable staff, on-hand, who would answer questions, you would have people coming to the website, asking questions and getting results.

Or we could keep it going like it currently is, and just hope that questions get answered. Hey, we can hope for the best right?
