I guess I am the one to blame about all of this "sony" talk. I don't think it is as bad as you all make it out to be. All of those people who talk about the "Sony Civic" are only trying to give me some praise. Just like everyone else is doing for the 8 track car. Something you don't see all the time. I think it is kind of neat that the guy who keeps closing all of the sony and 8 track threads will let people make fun of one another and brag about and praise other stereos. Oh yeah I see, it's not Sony. All you people out there who sit there and bash the sony system or the 8 track system, are the people who just sit at home and do nothing. You are never at the shows, so you have absolutely no right to even say anything. Come out to a show, have some fun and then you will see why people post about sony and the 8 track. Go ahead close the thread, kick me off the site, do whatever you want. I know my system isn't the most expensive, but it got me 4 trophies in the last 3 comps so I am damn proud of what I got. You don't like it....Dont post a message.!

****, I could care less if it was DD, or Jensen, Crossfire, or Pyramid.

It doesn't matter that it is Sony that is getting louder and louder, it's the fact that your car is getting louder and louder.

Keep up the good work Ollie. Not a lot of guys are holding a candle to your set up. All you gotta do now is do a touch of rework and start claiming IdBL and dB Drag events... then see how fast people stop talking smack.

What sony talk?! what are you talking about!?

I don't think it is as bad as you all make it out to be. All of those people who talk about the "Sony Civic" are only trying to give me some praise. Just like everyone else is doing for the 8 track car. Something you don't see all the time.
It's not because they trying to give you praise, or that your doing something that not many people do.. it's the content of what you and others post on here that makes people get the way they do.

I think it is kind of neat that the guy who keeps closing all of the sony and 8 track threads will let people make fun of one another and brag about and praise other stereos.
Like this one? It's not closed, it just got barried with all the other posts. And who's making fun of who and praising other stereo's?

Oh yeah I see, it's not Sony. All you people out there who sit there and bash the sony system or the 8 track system, are the people who just sit at home and do nothing. You are never at the shows, so you have absolutely no right to even say anything.
Actually no thats not true. There are alot of people that do sit at home and talk alot, but there are also a few that goto more shows than most people can imagine.

Come out to a show, have some fun and then you will see why people post about sony and the 8 track.

Making a post once and a while is ok.. but a post every few days or hours about the same thing gets anoying.

Don't whine, that will cause more bashing. If you like your system that's all that matters, don't listen to anyone else.

I agree with both A rok and Sony Civic how come people come on here and trash talk others when so far as I can tell this forum is here to help each other out, If people don't post there success how are others supposed to know what works good. I have yet to see a forum closed for something mainstream like rockford or JBL. My thoughts are you can't trash talk something unless you have actually seen it and heard it!! If this thread gets shut down just because the word SONY is mentioned you might as well shut down the whole site! Sony Civic rules!!

Baring in mind this is soley my opinion, look at it from this point of veiw...you let a thread go about an air freshener but when someone does well, wants to share his(or a friends) happiness in doing well with a system that most in the industry would consider less than top quality, you close the thread "because we are tired of hearing about this....".Yeah,there for a little while I went overboard on the 8 track thing, but only beacuse its different.I have eased off as some have requested, but only in an effort to keep the peace around here.By the way,did you know that I have a lady in Belguim who has asked me for pics of my setup to be posted on her homepage?I hope one day the Sony Civic gets the same sort of honor and praise and more.I don't see what Ollie,Todd or myself have done wrong.
See,Ollie,LBKC and I are the shmoes that have to work our damn asses off to get somewhere. We don't have unlimited credit,or a big fancy shop,or all the tools and what not to do a world-class install. For most of you who don't know this,I myself am in bankruptcy right now. Most of the money I have in my system was supposed to be used to make my trustee payments, but I have chosen to "go hard or go home".I ahve had to bust my *** for the last couple monthes to try and get my system louder...dealing..trading...swapping..getting to bed at about 4 am then getting up for work for weeks on end...do rewiring jobs by trouble light in my driveway at 2 am...and I am sure I am not the only one that pushes like this as well.
I know for a fact(or so you tell me)that some of you can just walk into an electronics store and boom!NEW SUBS!!We can't do that.
And I also agree that some of the people on here are those that just sit at home and are not out there competing and promoting the sport.I'm sorry, although I do know one or two of them a face to face level and I do think them to be good people,I don't beleiev they have the right to "dictate"(for lack of a better term(not meant to be taking in the wrong light)what we are allowed to talk about.
Let us,the hardworking, assbusting, true die-hard db Drager's have our bragging rights...I ask only this of you not in a begging manor, but as a small favour to us,the "Joe Blow's" of the db drag world...
I say GOOD ON YA,OLLIE!!!LONG LIVE THE SONY CIVIC!!!
Oh,BTW Ollie....check out my sig....hehe..

Thats my 2 cents.....

I am not a moderator so I can't let threads go on or lock them more than any other member.. My post about the air freshener was a joke because tinted is so damn loud Then again if everyone on here that competed (I know there isn't too many) Made a post about how they did at a competition, I think the board would be pretty flooded, I don't know though, I'm not a mod.

I don't think anyone ever said that you guys did anything wrong.. I am not bashing by any means, I'm just trying to give you the point of view that most people are having (I talk to alot of them on here)

Not many of us have this, I'm a college student and I only work part-time, so I know how hard is it to fund a competitive car audio system. But I work hard for every penny I earn and I put most of it towards my car, I'm sure there are alot of people in the same boat.. And there are a few luck ones who have the unlimited credit, big fancy shops and the best tools, but i think you'll find most of them worked hard for it as well..

Yeah tell me about it.. just ask tweek how many times we have been working on installs and it has gone into night time, and we find ourselves sitting in the dark try to wire up amps and such

I know for a fact(or so you tell me)that some of you can just walk into an electronics store and boom!NEW SUBS!!We can't do that.
I wish I had that kind of cash as well, and I agree that there are alot of people that can just do that..

And I also agree that some of the people on here are those that just sit at home and are not out there competing and promoting the sport.
Oh yes, there are tons of people like that!! I don't think I fall into that category, I goto every competition that I know of around here. I even saved up my pennies and bought my own term-lab and I had my first competition last Saturday (although it rained we still got a decent turnout), and we plan on having more competitions to support the industry. It's just too bad all of these shop owners with a bigger budget and everything can't do the same.

I'm sorry, although I do know one or two of them a face to face level and I do think them to be good people,I don't beleiev they have the right to "dictate"(for lack of a better term(not meant to be taking in the wrong light)what we are allowed to talk about. What defines a hardworking, assbusting, true die hard dbdragger? it sounds like your saying that only you, ollie and LBKC are???

Maybe there should have a new forum added for bragging rights??

Cool

hey Chris B. not to get off topic or anything, i was wondering what you hit on the new termpro. most of the talk of lack of participation is focused at local guys. i have no idea how db drags are going out in ontario ,but i'm sure you would like there to be more of them.but thats merely my opinion...the season has been so sparse in western canada that i've had , and will go to competitions in the states.driving 18 hrs each way to these comps is BRUTAL!!but i still have fun at the comps( isn't that why we do it?)and finally good goin' Ollie, if i'd stayed in calgary ,i'd had to have kicked your a$$...j/k
only two dbdrags left in alta. this month lets make these comps something to tell our grandchildren about
