all the rule changes have resulted in guys having to generally have a higher budget to compete, i totally agree, same with these 1-2 3-4 type classes

but thats kinda off topic,

the real issue as i see it is this, sonycivic, u are winning with sony gear, thats great more power to ya, personally i wouldnt touch sony gear with a 10 foot pole, no matter what kinda numbers u are putting up, i dont like sony, and i dont think i ever will, thats my opinion, and im allowed to have it,

the main problem is yer buddy goin away from being a supporting friend/fan to a fanatic, look at all of his posts regarding your system, they are all identical, they all say the same thing, and half the time the numbers arent even close to what the mic said u actually hit, thats not your fault, thats your buddys, u cant just fabricate numbers outta thin air cus "you heard the mics" were so many db low, i bet he didnt round down your scores from the autotemp show that were about 8db high,.

same think with the 8 track posts, for a while there, they were constant, and repetative, its nothing against the 8track, but i know it would get annoying if i posted a new thread everyday about my system, and it was basically a copy of the previous days post,
no offence to u or 8track, ive said it before, u are puttin up decent numbers on a budget its good to see, and its great to be proud of, but theres a point where pride gets offensive, and aggrevating to some people,

i doubt u will be kicked off the board, nor will your buddy, but the whole "ill do whatever i want and if u dont like it...." attitude is kinda childish,
and to talk about the guys who are shuttin down the threads, bout how they dont know, they are never at shows etc etc.... i dunno how long u have been doin this, but i know the mods on here, are the guys who have been to 90% of the shows held within 5 hours of their locations for the last 2-3 years, and most of them are the ones who dont come out to shows that arent sanctioned, and just put on by futureshop and A&B, and places where there are really no rules at all, honestly, 9/10 times these shows are jokes, no offence to the people puttin em on, we appreciated the time and effort put into em, but they really offer nothing to a serious or even remotely serious competitor, like the A&B show, did they even have prizes for the pro class competitors?? so im sayin before u talk about guys not commin out, u should really ask yourself why, and realize that if half the guys that u are kinda slammin did come out, they would be the same guys handing u your butt, like if team rip rock, the choys, rob and nicole and other serious competitors came out to a show where it was based on just the number of subs in the car, im betting half the people there wouldnt show up at the next show cus they arent even in the same league.

consider this, the choys were running a CRX with 2 12s doing 153db on calibrated mics, i know if i saw them pull up at a comp knowing id have to run against them id hold onto my $20

so do yourself, and a bunch of new competitors a big favor and dont call out people u dont know man, dont talk smack and think that comparing fudged numbers to real ones is a good idea.

im not tryin to start nothin with u or your buddy, i dont know u, but i do know a bunch of the people u seem to almost be talkin down to, and they deserve alot more respect then that.

maybe if u get a chance head up to one of FX audio's shows and see what u can do on a termpro mic, they are said to be SUPER accurate

anyway, just some food for thought,

 

oh hey and looking back on the original post "all you people who think sony sucks" or whatever the topic was, (Chris B linked to it)

there was only ONE person who trashed sony gear, and that was someone who even said they joined the board just to do it...

while everyone else the general concensus was its all bout the install,

and the point that, u cant compare a 99$ sub to a 900$ sub, when looking at overall quality and performance, under proper conditions,
if u do a crap job on the install u can make a 1000$ sub sound like crap, if u take the time to do an amazing install and design u can make a lower end sub sound amazing, that simple.

 

My best on the new termlab with the car on was 147.9, car off was 147.1.. hopefully i'll get it up to a 148 this year.. been having a few problems with the car (broken rca's from accident and stuff like that)..

As for competitions we unfortionatly dont have many dbdrags out here.. maybe one a month if we are lucky, next year we're hoping to change that though.. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

For all who don`t know there is a class called mini street. This class was made for the more budget systems in mind. Usually Ray has this class at his dbdrags if enought people show up.

Tha-Game: you are thinking along the right path as us. All of these non sanctioned db drag events don`t really mean anything to us. Our vechicle (and the people that you also mentioned), was built for basicly one reason in mind. DB DRAG!!

just my 2 cents. We've been fortunate that we have 4 sponsors, and yes we have very generous sponsors. However we too have been watching shows over the past 10 years trying to save money and to come up with something impressive to the eye and loud enough to make heads turn. We were fortunate that sponsors fell on our lap. and we can only repay the favor to our sponsors by getting the word out about their product. But we too have been posting our progress. It's our first year competing and i feel good that we have a score to post. We don't shy any one away when someone comes up to our car, we show it with pride. So i can completely see if sony civic wants to tell he world about the great car that he has created. And kudos to 8track for showing off his car. keep up the good work and if someone trashes you, so be it. As long as you don't stoop down then your alright. negativity will get you nowhere. I think it's been a great year. Next year should be even better. I love car audio and i think we all do to. so lets praise the great jobs that everyone has done this year. see you all next year. Louder and better.

one difference ive noticed between yourself and all the sony talk, is u post your scores, as in what u actually hit, and not fabricated ones, also, the way u present yourself is much different then some have presented the sonycivic, i have yet to see u on here starting a thread to try and throw somethin in someones face, when really no one has said anything negative about it that needs a response,
thats just how i see it, pride is good, its good to know your gear, even better to like it, but at the same time, u gotta have class too, like if someone talks smack bout your gear, u smile nod and giggle to yourself when u beat them, then go shack their hand and walk away, theres no point in bein all "BOOOYA WHO SUCKS NOW......." etc etc etc..
and then inflating the scores to make it sound like a slaughter when it really wasnt.

oh and riprock, i should be at visions tomorrow morning, should be a good show, gotta check my finances before i say whether ill compete or not...(we all know thats like a 99% yes....) so hopefully there will be a mini street class, any idea on the mics? are they the new ones?? im hoping they are i wanna know what my real scores this year are like, see if painting my box made it any louder [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

k for the record i havent seen sonycivic post an inflated score, although the person generally starting the "all hail sony" type posts has been "correcting" the scores based on what he heard the mics were off.... etc etc... also for the record, i got nothin against sonycivic, i doubt hes tellin his friend what to say, or even has knowledge of it untill he reads it on here like the rest of us. so really these posts are in no way his fault,

 

Y'know what, if you like your system and its winning, good for you, I am a firm believer of "its the install that matters, not the product", I like sony (mobile ES only!) but I dont think I'd purchase it tho. I wouldn't hate on yer gear, cuz I didn't buy it, you did, so why should I really care who made it or what? Its yours not mine.

Personaly I think most of the "knowlegeable" posters on this forum are mostly full of hot air (not that they don't know their stuff, just that they think they know better than you or me or whatever or whomever), who cares.

Many of the poeple I know, (and I know alot) come to this site, but don't post, and we usually get together and have a good "chuckle" and read what these "car audio gods" (your average futere shop installer mentality) have to say, so I say enjoy your system, sony or 8track, and let the critiqueing and boo-ing and poopooing on your setup pass by you, just like water off a Dukk's back! ha!
