i think you could pass the MECP basic without ever having done any installation. the book itself seems fairly basic and from what i hear, the test is the same way

MECP and the MECP Test are stricly based on theory. As we know theory is fine but practial is a WHOLE lot more fun

I was once certified, back in 98. Took it through mobile dynamics. Great school. But bein certified didn't help me find an installin job. Hence why I am an apprentice welder. But I still love to do my own installs.
