So, as long as the box is mounted to the board? Or it has to be a permanent part of the box? Either way, I can make that work.

I saw this in many vehicles , from what I herd as long as the thickness of the peice isnt thicker then the stock peice its allright

use it and carpet over it. there is no rule to the amount of sounddeadener anymore. so as long as you keep the oem look, and everything is functional, you should be good.

I can't read. my bad.

this is why a new rule book should be made every year. not just some random memos being thrown out there on a photo copied page. there are still way too many grey areas imo.
