Burp classes are the main course at any shows I seen and the demo/bassrace/bass boxing/psychlone is the desert. But with that said I am working hard to be able to bassbox when the shows start popping up.

Luke and Will are those type of guys that do well at anything they try, be it burp or demo.

Maybe the problem is that competitors want all of the shows to meet their little view of the world. A shop goes out and puts out time money and energy and all they get back is, "why don't you have this", or "why are you doing that", or "why aren't there better prizes", or some other bullshit. Shops often say they can't afford shows. I often believe they just don't want the that goes along with them..

Here we had a show that was offering something your car does not fit into. Your choice is to either not attend or to make your car fit into it, not to whine about it it not being what you want.

I see you go on and on about how many hours you spend on the road and how much competing costs. blah blah blah. What do you want, a hero cookie? Don't do it then.
I spend over 10grand and 40 weekends a year in a hockey rink, dance hall, or swimming pool for my kids and I don't get a trophy, medal, or certificate for it.

Get over yourself. Be a real competitor. Do it to further the hobby, not yourself.

You have kids....that's your trophy....your little something to be proud of and show off. I am sure that they win medals and trophies at sporting events too when they win....not to mention usually getting their names put on placards and trophies for future generations to see their accomplishments. I don't have kids, so I'd like something to show off my accomplishments too.

I will admit, my car is built to be a burp monster and nothing else, but I usually have 2 cars at for shows---one serious compitition, and one demo that plays music, and such. If you pay attention, you will notice that every year the system and car changes, so people don't get tired of seeing the same car year after year. it switches things up, and keeps things fresh.....not to mention leaves people wanting to come back and see what I have up my sleeves for the next event.
I have competed in bassrace, and phsyclone. I wouldn't have been able to attend keiths show without IDBL, because I am working on my 2nd show/demo car, and It would most likely not be ready in time. It woulda been pretty crappy, considering soundsgood sponsors me, and I wouldn't be able to compete with anything at their show...

with that being said, IDBL IS being offered at Keiths show, and I am donating the use of MY laptop AND termlab to make it happen. guess I don't do anything to help with shows, and be a true competitor either

^ I was with you until your last comment. However, in general I believe you promote the sport fairly well. In general I also believe that Luke is a self serving whiner. Based on recent PMs he is also responsible for at least two new competitors who likely won't bother making this show. Not exactly an ambassador of the hobby.

why not go all out and build a true sound car thats show worthy, then you can compete in all formats and any show?? take for example my yellow civic.. it took second at dtp at b.c. places car show, then placed first at the new westminister show and shine, it also hit over 153db with a 1000watt amp, and scored in the high 3 low 400 on the sq score sheets.. i competed against Will, in spl, competed against Dave in sq and attended all car shows and did very well.. so if you want to attend every show, build a car that CANT be left out due to formats.. just makes sense.. ps. its not cheap tho!!
