Hey Luke can you inquire about the classes etc etc, I would like to go but as Will stated guy's with walls against guy's without walls, that's just not right, period. We want to encourage competitors to compete, have some fun and learn not to scare them away because they have to compete against the louder advanced competitors.

IASCA condones the use of the TL at all events except 3x and finals.

I imagine my Term-lab setup will be used at that show.. And after judging dozens and dozens of DbDrag events in my time, running one of the computer rigs at a DB Drag World Finals and some multi-point events - I'll do my best to help out with that side of it.

As for the classes - something new was tried, and based on the feedback from the event most said they enjoyed it - everyone liked the relaxed event better - there can always be tweaking of classes - if you like go check any formats forums and look at the banter there on classes.

The shows for most stores are promotional events for people interested in car audio, as that one was for Jeff I would think - not for points. It's great to see big vehicles out at any show - but I would hope those competitors understand what they are coming for. If it is purely for points and not for the social and community aspect of it - so be it.

One of the biggest feedback items heard a lot was that people loved the low entry fee and the ability to come out based on the cost vs some shows and just have some fun.

That said - if there were walls vs no walls - that should be looked at (and will be I would imagine).

Ideas you have for classes (keeping it simple and fun) and for other events to do at shows - let's hear them!! Always like good ideas!

You guys should try a split show.

Have a class with low entry fee, maybe $5 a run, that is for people to pound their stuff and see what they hit. Maybe offer prizes by SPL achieved - something for 135, 140, 145, 150, etc. Someone used to give out decals with SPLs in increments, that was kind of cool. Since each car is now competing with itself, it doesn't matter who runs what.

Then have regular dBDrag or IDBL classes with more standard entry fees for the competitors.

This should let Joe Noob run for fun and Captain Blammo run for points..

I am sure there was alot of good feedback from the show, but from the roughly 15 competitors I talk to on a regular basis, 2 things need to happen. 1)proper classification of classes. last event, there were walls against no-walls, amateurs getting classified in the rookie classes, and only 2 classes for non-pro spl. with over 25 competitors, there was ALOT of discouragement. Also, nobody wants to risk blowing up their gear(insome cases THOUSANDS of dollars) with a good chance of coming home with nothing.

and 2) swag. Need to give some **** away. If nothing is offered to the public, not much interest will be offered back to the shop. If 604 wants this to be a fun, non-compitition event, then call it a test and tune, and don't ask an entry fee, and don't give out prizes. just chill, play and mingle. Even at santioned events, it's not all compitition. Yes heads do get butted sometimes, but 95% of all competitors come to have a good time and visit with people they haven't seen in a long time, not just to compete.

Obviously this is my opinion, and 604 will do what they want for an event, and cater to who they desire. all I can say is that if the event is like the last one, you can count on at least 12 active AND influential competitors NOT showing up. That's $240 @ $20 a head lost. There will probably be more not interested in showing up as well.

I have supported ALL of the retailers in western canada for the past 4 years by going to and advertising, almost every show they put on. Sanctioned or not, and this is the first time I have EVER felt this way about a show, and I know it's with my team by my side.

I apologize in advance for my ranting again,

Will
