Question Vancouver - One Time Install Needed

I'm looking for someone to install a new sub amp and cap for me into my '95 Pathfinder. The parts to be installed are a Phoenix Gold Xeon 400.1 and a 1F Lightening cap.

I had an amp mounted in the rear quarter panel wall, but the MOSFET's had a party one night, and went out in a blaze of glory (literally).

There is a D-block close to the wall, but I need custom mounting of the amp and cap done, as well as check all the wiring to make sure it wasn't the wiring that toasted my amp.

If this isnt the right forum to post this in, sorry, but it was the closest I could think of for a request like this.

I used to go to Boom Plus Toys, but they no longer install anything that they do no sell, and I'm not taking this to Ralph's after the hack job they did on my Alpine HU.

If no one can do this, can anyone recommend an honest shop in and around SE Vancouver/Bby/Richmond?

well there are plenty of shops... and if it just to mount and connect thenits easy...its this business of blaze of glory that will worry most...cause if there there were literal flames...then its all bad...if you mean balze of glory and smoke everywhere...then it might be ok. just stop into any shop with an install bay and get it all looked at.....any shops can look at it

I had an MTX Thunder 6500D, and the MOSFETs burned up. So my whole truck smelled like burnt PCB for about a month. Other than that, everything is fine. The amp was blowing smoke, but there were no flames.

From my understanding, talking to the shop in BC here which fixes MTX, they said that the 6500's were pretty notorious for their MOSFETs burning up. So, my guess is that the wiring is just fine (A&B Sound did it originally), but I would just like to make sure.

This isn't a competition install, but I want it done correctly and professionally. I have been to A&B, Ralph's, Visions, and have not had great experiences with any of them, especially the last two, so I was hoping people on this board would know of some quality, smaller shops who could do this for me, even a pro installer who wants to do this as an "after hours" job.

Soundworks in Burnaby seem pretty decent, on Lougheed by Willingdon. I do installs on the side, I could maybe take a look at it, or else I know a guy that does good quality work, PM me for his contact info.

Nothing like pouring some stiff ones and doing some car audio or tint work.

The electrical part is not beyond my skills. However, fabbing a custom mount for the amp so it can sit inside my rear quarter panel wall is. Fabbing a mount for the cap is as well.

I also wanted someone with more experience than me doing this.

That's all.

You could bring it to NorthShore Audio Video. I don't think we have anything booked next week so far. If you bring it in first thing monday morning (10am) we should be able to get at it right away. or any other day as well.

Talking

last Time I was at North shore audio video you guys quoted me something ridiculous like $460 for an install of an amp under my seat and hooking the amp up to a pair of speakers that were running off the head unit before..

it was a quote of like 4 hours of labour

so I did it myself and it took me around an hour and 45 min...
