MECP Certification might be a way for you to prove that you are serious about installing. If there is no experience to back you up, and you have no reference from an industry based on reliablity, then MECP is a way for you to show a posible employer that you are dedicated enough that you took the course. It's true that a person that has worked in the idustry has much more experience than a green student. But unless you know someone that is willing to let you work on a 100 000 vehicle based on your word than i dont think youll have too much luck. It true that you might be able to show passion but if you dont even have a clue waht a dmm is or what an ohm means, etc, you might need MECP to prove that you know the basic theory of installation and that you are worthy of an aprentice as an installer. Good luck. i know how hard it is to break into this line of work based on word only.
