Whats BC like??
born and raised ontario boy here..
i live basically in niagara falls, and i go to university 1.5 hours away in Guelph.
i am thinking of transferring to UBC of U of VIC next year.
for all the students out there, what are the average costs of living?
is it really any different, where can i look for a job before i head out there?
i am 21 now, will be 22 then, what else should i know.
all scholastic research i can do on my own, i am inquiring about social and economic issues here.
thanks

well, I got to UVIC and although I live at home, people I know that live on res and have appartments tell me somewhat...seems with a roomate, you're looking at around 400 bucks a month rent with usually all your utilities payed. (don't know about res). It rains a lot, gets kinda depressing, but once you get passed that...its good fun...any more questions just post or PM me
i looooove bc and so will you. ive traveled all over canada and i still think bc is the best even if we do get alot of rain
not sure what your rates are where u are (living, rent, etc) so its kind of hard to compare.

I used to live in Chilliwack. It was pretty cool, but I think I prefer the Hat. It is super cheap to live here, we have excellent facilities, most big city shops are now here and we are getting a home depot in the spring. There is lots of parks and such. Entertainment is cheap ($199 for season tickets to the Tigers, $6.99 for movie tickets, booze is relatively cheap (25 cent wings and 2.95 pint of Rickards Red)no cover charges except maybe New Years etc) we are one of the top cities with regards to hours of sunshine per year, lots of advantages to being here.
