Grew up in central BC, moved to the lower mainland, and then to Alberta, and do I ever miss it. The lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, just cant be beat. We'll be moving back to BC once things pick up again, but right now there is just too much money to be made in Northern Alberta.
The great thing about the lower mainland right now is they are preparing for the winter Olympics, so there is a sort of mini-boom happening. Shouldn't be to hard to find work to help pay your way. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

yeah i dont know what i'd do for work..
likely a retail sales position, something not too demanding.
arent there guys who run the FS's always looking to recruit off the boards j/k
i am liking the idea of heading out there, i have more family in san fran, but i dont like americans and i dont think i could have the courses applied to my designation.

Move to Vancouver Island. I was born and raised on VI and am now stuck in Edmonton working so that I can move back in the not so distant future.

If you want to live in one of the friendliest, most beautiful places on earth move to VI. If your into shopping and city life then yes you will find little to do. But if you enjoy recreation the island has some of the best around. Or you could be like Chadxton and live in inbred chilliwack and grow corn on your farm. I would pick the island over anywhere on the mainland except for the Vernon/Penticton area. I would never live in or around Chilliwack.
