Anyone who left did so under their own acts. Nobody has been forced out, industry member or consumer. I am tired of this tale.
The way I see it, a consumer started the thread, thus it should stand. There IS a mirror thread in The Void but some industry people chose to post here on the general board. Blame them if things have been said that should not.
IMO someone who runs from their responsibilities and leaves trusting people in the lurch deserves what they get. If that is some public grilling, all the better.

Youre right, you didn’t ask that it should be put in the void, but maybe rather hinted it should be deleted all together ? What is it people are hiding?

Out of pocket, oh here we go.. For the love of it all.. My bullshit radar goes bonkers when you guys post that CRAP.Only people doing anything for the love of this hobby and sport is the actual consumer. All you guys have an agenda, and that’s ok. I don’t blame people for making a living, that’s cool. But why say its all about the love of the sport and out of pocket.
Put on a show, write it off. Advertising, write it off. New Acura, write it off etc etc. The love of the sport can do a lot!
You guys really are wanting to open a can of worms you wont be able to close with the shopping south of the border vs north. Modz didn’t go under because of anyone ordering from the south…. unless were talking about dealers going direct, then yes I can see it happening….

This comes back around to the consumer feeling like theyre getting shafted by the dealer, who is just passing on the costs he got from the distributor.
You want people to buy product, then there has to be some reasonable compromise with price.
People who are shopping DD aren't doing it cause they just turned 16, got a car from mommy and want a system. Those people generally go to futureshop and get ripped off by the sharks, er, salesmen.
People who shop a boutique brand like DD, RE, ID, TC and all the rest shop it because they are a little more informed, and looking for something they can't get from the big box.
They probably also know what a "Fair" price is, and how much extra they are willing to pay to support a Canadian distributor.
Shaft the customer and the customer shafts back.
After all, distributors and dealers wouldn't be here except to cater to us, the teeming masses.
We have the option of doing business across the border or across the street.
I would strongly prefer to shop with a dude face to face, maybe ask some suggestions or buy him a beer.
But if I feel like I'm getting ripped off for double MSRP, I am going to sit in my comfy chair, scratch my nuts, belch and click the "add to cart" button.

300/box/month isn't a bad price. More than one box? For this site? Really? This site must get more traffic than I thought. And you own the server? So you've got a cluster of servers which all are leased and host multiple sites. I see close to $1000 in advertising on my screen right now. Multiply that by all the sites you do, plus some small hosting on the side you could do some pretty good margin, close to <gasp> 60p!!!
Every disagreement you get into resorts to insults - why!? I made it very clear in my initial post that I wasnt trying to stir .
Anyways, this discussion is just ending up in another admincca vs western posters who are obviously morons. lol. People get banned in these posts because of disagreements... for some stupid reason.

meh.. whatever, not everyone is an idiot from the west. but when you want to get in a battle of pricing, margins and more, its a bad idea. Especially with a guy whos running a forum.

I assure you, this SITE and many others didn't make enough to clearly pay for it.
That being said, you clearly have researched my 'business' somewhat, and feel its ok to post name servers and question everything, why cant i ?
