you mention going to our local shops and talking to them. might sound uber n00b, but what should we ask them? how should we go about persueding them?

 

you kidnap their cat/dog/child and tell them they will get it back at the end of a successful car audio event held at their store.

seriously tho, just ask them if they would want a car audio event at their store some time this summer at no cost to them. some guys will say no, some guys will be unsure and some guys will say say. be sure to mention that there wont be any cost to them, all they have to do is give us a power outlet for the mic to run.

what is sad is that the same 10 guys who participated in the poll are the same 10 guys at every single event. Cmon people!!

 

I was going to answer this question, but I honestly don't think I'm somebody who can give an opinion since I haven't competed in a damn thing.
I can just give you what I THINK ... that's about it.

And by the way, I'm the guy who suggests people to this board, just for the record.
I see (or hear) somebody, I let them know where they should be. CCA and competing.

 

The gift card idea is a very good one. You should try approaching even the big box stores like FS or BB. The most of the larger stores have 2 car install bays with plenty of room for competitors. If you mention it's for no cost to them and they get their name on stuff and some free advertisement in a section that's not doing the greatest they may jump right in. I know of one store that even has an installer with his own TL mic..

big *** with respect to what? i know for a fact it wont be "big ***" attandance, cuz those always suck *****.

last year there was a number of events that were supposed to be "big ***" multi point event........too bad only like 7 people showed up. it was big *** events with no participants.
