Im looking at getting a remote start installed on my 06 jetta. Since the local shop refuses to do it i will need to go to Prince George, BC. Any recomended shops up their other than Visions. Would be nice to find someone in my area instead of spending the extra cash to travel 6 hours away for a install.

Go find Joe at J&A Stereo. Do you have the unit already or do you need one?

Ask Joe for a Compustar Pro unit. If he does not sell these, I can send one up to you.

Ouch... get up to fast from under the dash of a car? hehe.. Hop all is good..

here is what the local shop quoted me.
Compustar 1WSH-S-PRO remote starter $159.99
Idatalink BLADE-AL interface module $99.99
Forten KEYBOX bypass kit $39.99

Still baffles me why he wont install it. he is a good installer i have delt with him for years. i think it has something to do with the airbag setting codes and they dont want to be responcible driving it to a vw shop to clear them. But told him thats not a issue i have a vag com. He has done remote starts in some of my other veh. top notch installs. when ya have a problem he always helps you out no charge. I even called him at 2 in the morning once cuz the alarm kept going off on the gf car he told me to go shut the trunk...LOL felt like a idiot...

That is some good pricing actually on the units, no point in spending more to have me ship them up. Contact Joe, let him know you were talking with me and see what he can offer you as well. Compustar Pro is a very good system, it is not a down and dirty cheap *** Black Widow junk in a black box type of remote starting system. Easier to install, easy to program and reliable. 2 year warranty on the remotes and lifetime on the brain.
