Is this alarm even worth my time?

Is this alarm even worth my time?
Hey guys, I need an alarm - Not picky, just needs to be a 2way so I can hear it in my basement room.
I have a VERY limited budget, so the cheaper - the better.
I found this...
Crime Stopper CS-2205ADVTW1 2 way alarm
Amazon.com: Deluxe 2-WAY Led Paging Security System: Electronics
Is it even worth my time? I read a few times on this forum that when it comes down to it, its not how good the alarm is, its how well its installed.
I found a guy locally who used to work for big-box stores doing audio/alarm/starter installs, who made 50% commission, who now does "freelance" work instead - he said he would be able to install it for 50$ (basic arm/disarm) and for another 20$ do the keyless as well. So 70$ doesn't seem so bad since I haven't a clue on how to install it this.
I can do audio stuff just fine, amp, subs, speakers - but alarms...eh, haven't a clue to where to start. Is this alarm even worth getting? I just need something "for now" - Getting my new audio equipment soon (old stuff was stolen), and I need something just to get by.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Just checking some of our sponsors...found this!
eBay Motors: THOR 2 WAY LCD REMOTE START CAR SECURITY ALARM SYSTEM B (item 160253570637 end time Jun-29-08 00:21:47 PDT)
Out of these 2, which should I pick? Or is there a better bang'for'your'buck elsewhere?

I would get the Code before I would get the Thor, I also think $70.00 is very cheap to install that kind of system with keyless entry. Remember the alarm is only as good as the install so make sure he doesn't cut any corners on the install, make sure he solders all connections.

I don't think that it would matter which one you get. They all have the same issue. If you have an issue with it, you'll be out of an alarm for some time while you send it to them, they fix it, then send it back.
It may be better to see if a local place has a deal on one or try Canadian Tire, just don't go to Walmart.
Can you verify that your alarm installer does good work and can provide proof of insurance in case he forks up your car?
