Alarm guys: Viper 791xv antenna
Hey guys, putting one of these units in the girlfriends car, will I have any problems putting the antenna near high current wires? I have also heard that the extra antenna wire shouldn't be coiled up, but out; any truth to this.
thanks, Mark

on a viper 791 it uses an fm antena that is stuck to the winshield i have installed tons of these units and find no problem bundling up the slack under the dash. just make sure that when you stick the antena to the windshield you stick it under the blue tinge at the top od the windshiel or else you will get very little or else no range, due to the fact that that blue tinge is actually tint witch means it has metal particals in it.

Hi Everyone,
With the 791XV antenna (and most likely any other FM security/rs antenna), you do not want to have the antenna mounted near high current wiring if at all possible. Window tint has also been known to reduce range. Other FM equipment in the car (eg. FM mod for you i-pod) have also been known to cause range issues. If you are having range issues also check the 'brain' ground impedence back to the battery negative post, it should be 4 ohms or less.
