to each his own, I hope we can help the next time your American supplier lets you down... or with the next piece of US bought equipment gives you problems, which ever comes first.....

regards, Mark

Seems he also has no problem accepting the free health care that we working Canadians pay for as well. Want to support Canada, support the Canadian vendors with businesses to run. The ***** of people like you that take your business to the US to save a buck and then come and ask the Canadian industry for help...... I'm sure that you work hard for the dollars that you earn, so do we.

its not free at all, I’ve been paying into it for over 16yrs (on my last cheque I lost 45% to various deductions – that’s hardly free if you ask me)

Its not to save a buck or two, for that I would be willing to donate my money to Canadian businesses – its to save A LOT of money

You’re a compustar dealer. Would you have sold me a Compustar 2W900FM A/S (remote start/ Alarm combo) for $230 Canadian shipped overnight shipping to my home in Ottawa?

Can anyone on here get me a Kicker SolobaricL5 (10”) for $150 to my door?

or a JVC EXAD AVX2 for $500 ish to my door?

Yes I support Canadian business / yes I support small businesses in general , but not when it will cost me double what it would in the U.S.

If I could have had the alarm for $250 at my door (Cad) I would have paid the penalty. But when a local retailer will only do $360ish, I’m not willing to pay the difference. (I might as well walk into the shop tonight and donate $150 so they can stay afloat ????)

Same with the headunit. A Canadian retailer would had to have sold it to me for (Cad) $475 + tax in order to match what I got in the U.S. / btw Canadian retail is $759.99 and the street price isn’t much lower.

I still need more for my car, I’ll try vendors here before making final purchases

Wink

i think people should stop telling other people how to spend their money. A good friend of mine is a dealer that sells kicker and i have kicker components, and used to have a kicker L7.I still have kicker comps but now run a sub i bought from the states.I enjoy music and my amp is 1000 rms, i couldn't find any sub locally that could take that power for what i paid for my sub(all i could afford to spend). I do support my friend as much as possible but i myself like to try different things, i even had a good deal on a solo x but still turned it down because i wanted to try a different sub. It's just that we don't know the guy who posted or his responsibilities, therefore you should not jump on him. I myself have crossed the border many times to purchase clothes in colors and styles i coudn't find here or even to save money. We've had this discussion so many times on this board it's not funny, he knows the risks and the lack of support he may get, so let him be.

That's not the issue. It's his money and he can burn it for all I care, it was just the fact that there are quite a few people that either own businesses in the industry, or work in the industry on this board, and to say straight out that "I will never support you" but can you help me out. that's all...
