Question HELP ME INSTALLING REMOTE STARTER IN MY 2006 Honda Element EX 4WD Manual Transmission

Hi,

I'm installing VIPER 5704V Remote Starter and Omega OL-AL(MDB)-HA1-EN Bypass module in my 2006 Honda Element EX Sports 4WD Manual Transmission. I'm having experience installing remote starter in 3 cars with automatic transmission. This is the first time I'm installing the remote starter in my Manual transmission vehicle. Please help me whether the wiring connections are correct or not and also help me to find the wires from viper starter to my vehicle which I have not figured still. I would appreciate if you can give me the answer opposite to each wiring question I requested, so that way I can understand easily and take the print-out. The information enclosed below.

Your Viper 5704V is an Alarm / Starter combo. Even though you have done starters in an automatic trans vehicle doing one in a manuel trans is alot more complex. I'm going to help by giving you the wiring colors of the vehicle that are required for a manuel trans install. I'm not giving you tech support in how to test the wiring, so don't ask. Manuel trans remote starter installs should only be done by experienced installers. Here is the basic wiring for your vehicle, don't assume colors, you need to test the wires.

12 volts: White
Ignition: Yellow/White
Ignition2: Black/Red
Accessory: White/Red
Starter: Black/White
* ALL ABOVE WIRES @ Ignition harness (+)

Clutch: Green (-) @clutch switch
E-Brake: Green/Orange (-) @ molex plug above fuse box
Door Triggers: Dk. Green (-) Drivers door . Grey/Black (-) Passengers door @ green factory alarm plug high in Drivers kick panel (usually taped to an existing harness.)

Parklights: Red/Black (+) @ Drivers kick
Brake: White/black (+) @ Brake switch.

* In brackets after the wiring colors is the polarity of the vehicle wiring.

Thank you a lot for your reply, because I waiting for the reply for this post and I left hopes. You really created the hope in me now. I connected almost all the wires except few. I also have few more questions befor I complete this project,

The 1st question is, For H2/18 Violet/Yellow (-)200mA Starter Output -> what I heard for the Manual transmission vehicles this wire should connect to the CLUTCH WIRE, am I right?. There are TWO CLUTCH PLUGS in my vehicle, one is YELLOW COLOUR PLUG and the other one is WHITE COLOUR PLUG. When I went through Google search engine some said it should connect to Blue/White wire of Yellow plug Connector to see ground during Crank. My question is need I have to use any Relays or Diodes for this Starter output wire or don't need to use anything other than direct connection of wires. But if I need to use Diode, what is the specification of Diode I need to use?

The 2nd question is,FOR H3/6 Red Fused (30A) Ignition 1 Input -> Is this wire should connect to Black/Yellow of Ignition OR
White(+) 12 Volts @ Ignition Harness

The 3rd Question is, H2/6 Green (-Ve) Door Trigger Input -> When I went through Google search engine some said it should connect to Green wire (Driver's Door) and Grey/Black (Passenger's Door) @ Steering Column Harness. But they mention to use the Diode. How should I connect the Diode to these wires and what type and specifications of Diode I need?

I would appreciate your reply.

Thank you,

Your Violet/Yellow will go directly to your clutch bypass wire as long as its (-) , but you need to test the wire DO NOT ASSUME, you can do damage to your vehicle. Your Red 30 amp fuse wire goes to 12 volts (WHITE). Your door trigger output will tie into both the drivers and passengers door trigger, with diodes ( the band goes towards the door trigger wire) so you'll need 2 diodes solder them to your green door trigger wire , this will give you the 2 outputs needed. Then extend the wire if needed to your door trigger wires.

Thank you for your reply. FOR H2/17 Grey (-) Hood Pin Input -> Should Connect to the Hood Pin is that Right??? Because In VIPER Wiring Connection it's mentioned as NC or NO.

Look forward to hear from you.

Yes, that is correct. You may have to get a pinswitch. I'm not sure if your system came with one or not, if it did use it.

Thanks again. YES I did get the Pin Switch.

You said Violet/Yellow will go directly to your clutch bypass wire as long as its (-) , but you replied I need to test the wire (without any assumption). How to test the wire? can I use the multimeter or any other technique need I have to use?

In search engine I found like, if I use the relay Violet/Yellow Starter output wire should connect to PIN 85, 12Volts to PIN 86, Clutch Wire (Blue/White) to PIN 30 and Other Clutch wire (Black) to PIN 87. What is this Other wire, is that the Black wire (??ground) in Yellow Plug, because the Yellow Plug consists of 2 wires (Blue/White and Black).

Please correct me which way is best. Thanks again.

Yes you need to test the "Clutch bypass wire" so take your multimeter and test the clutch wires at the switch and the one that tests as ground (-) when the clutch is pushed in is the wire you need. You don't need the relay, there is minimal amount of draw to a negative clutch, so connect the wire directly.
