Thoughts on "back up siren /w build in battery"

Hey guys,

Well after a shitty incident recently when I was at a movie..3 cars from the front door. Bastards broke into my car, alarm went off (out of range for my 2 way pager - Grrr), they cut the battery ground cable and got everything.

So, looking to do some upgrades. Found this..

BACK UP BATTERY CAR ALARM SIREN on eBay.ca (item 180374825366 end time 05-Jul-09 10:52:42 EDT)

Only 20$, either adds on, or replaces the standard siren on my car. Basically if power/ground is cut from the battery - this thing continues to go off with a built in battery that charges when my car charges. It will only continue to go off if power/grnd is cut - so if my alarm goes off by accident I can still turn it off with keyfob as long as my battery has power/ground.

If not - only way to turn it off is..
a) find it (will hide it good) and destroy it
b) Use the included key, get to it - turn it off

Edit: Also, would it be possible to hook up 2 of these? 1 under the dash, one under the hood.

The battery back up siren is a great add on to any alarm system. You can add as many of these guys you would like, but be sure to have them wired up using a relay, since the alarm brain itself can probably safely handle about two sirens at max.
Only thing that I recommend to you is that if you do add one of these, be sure to keep the key with you. Also let what ever shop you drop the car off to, that they are notified of the siren. Mechanics HATE car alarms when they go off, especially if it's one they cannot shut off.
