alpine w205 rear speaker help

hey,

i have an apline w205 dvd system installed,

and for some reason the rear speakers are super quiet.. and only play very low range..
i've checked all the bypasses build in on the unit.. and none of them are set to anything that should be causing this..

does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be??

I have my W205 front & rear pre outs connected to a 4 chanel amps' channel A & B and feeding front and rear speakers. I have noticed that if I set the fader to centre point on the head unit, all 4 speakers play loud. If I set the fader to the rear, the rear speakers are quiet and of course the front ones go quiet as well. It's like all 4 chanels are only getting signal from the front channel pre outs. I don't know if this info will help you solve your problem but there it is for what its worth.

you have to have two separate components going to the front and rear speakers instead of feeding them off of the same power output.. if the set the fade to the rear and you have the speaker components running off of the frot output you will only be able to make it quieter if you set the fade to the rear..

But the W205 does have front and rear pre-outs and I have run separate cables to A & B input on the 4 channel amp then run fronts off of A and rears off of B Thats the confusing part of this headunit. So you would think that when you fade the rear, the signal would be cut from the front pre uts but continue to feed the rears

Hopefully, if your amp has input select switches, see they are set for 4 channel/fading not the 2 channel non-fading option.

Tubeamp, thank you, I'll check that.
BTW rwgottar, I didn't mean to jack your thread, I just thought that since I had the identical problem, I would chime in.
