do you think it would work with cd-r cd's too, it says that it is only compatible with cd-r/rw, but isn't the difference between those two..u can delete and re-record on the cd-r/rw and not the cd-r
if not, i'll just go out and buy some later, right now all i have is a whole whack of cd-r cd's

It does play burned discs. Most of the DVD's i've played in their are music video's and/or slideshows with music.
I had to create the disc using some whacky nero program - takes for frickin ever, granted my dvd burner isn't exactly blazing fast, but like 45min to convert the formatting, then 45ish to write the disc. Sucks when you mess up.
I've done a short bit of research on the 205 and seen that it plays every type of media under the sun: dvd video, dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw, cd (audio) cd-r, cd-rw. But as far as file formats for video all i've seen is dvd.
Strangely can't find many people askin if it plays avi or mpeg or what not. I think the closest you're getting is the 505 playing divx. Unfortunately not much help to you.
