amp 2 ch or 1 ch what's the difference with subs
ok but what about... lol right now I have 2 12" punches one's a Punch HE2 RFP3212 and the other's a Punch HE2 RFP4212 I'm thinking that now instead of getting the other subs I was looking at that I'll look for a better amp that will power the subs better then the amp i have now. does it matter that the subs are slightly different models? There the same specks 200W per voice coil and both DVC, so then i should be looking for a mono amp that's around 800W RMS with a 4 ohm load? or different?
There like exactly the same sub, just off by one number. They have the same stats and RMS, peak and everything is exactly the same, but different look and it's 'Punch HE2 RFP3212 and Punch HE2 RFP4212' Thats the only difference.
None of the things you listed have anything to do with why you don't run two different subs anyways.
But I doubt it'll be an issue anyways. Especially if you have the enclosure internally baffled or each have their own enclosure.
To clear things up.
Two 4Ohm DVC Subs = 1 Ohm Final Load if All Pos to Pos and All Neg to Neg
Two 4Ohm SVC Subs = 2 Ohm Final Load if All Pos to Pos and All Neg to Neg
Run a mono. Don't run a two channel for two subs, it's just confusing, inefficient and pointless.
Run a T500.1 Rockford and you'll be good. Or any other 500.1 .. Alpine, JBL, JL.. Whatever logo rubs your fancy the most. In the end, for the daily driver equipment, it's the same .
My money is on Rockford T line or the mid level Alpine (Forget the line name) though.
