hi there in my 2005 jaguar i got a used avic-4 pioneer but i dont have the hide-away unit i hook it up to the batt but i get no power to the radio the kid i got it from show me and it was working fine but from looking around it comes with this hide-away unit or aka brain do i need this to power up my avic-n4 thanks

 

yes you need the small silver box that looks like a brain or very small amplifier for the unit to power up. your radio antenna should also be plugged into that same box if I remember correctly

 

and the kid that i got it off is no where to be found do you think the n2 or n3 hide-away units will still work for my n-4 i found n-2 and n-3 all over ebay but no n-4

 

i'm pretty sure they're all the same piece. they can't be that much on ebay anyways. you should pick one up

 

hi there i got a n2 and a n3 but the radio will open up but thats it i guess i need a n4 brain can anyone help ????? where i can get a n4 ebay has only n3

 

Need the serial# of the unit to know the software revision in it, then we can order the module as a part.

 

ok i'll get that for you the kid i got the brain from just e-mail me and was saying he had a n4 with a n2 brain and it work??? the kid i got it off show me how to work it and what it did befor he pulled it out of his car so i know it works i have the wiring harnesses and the data cable but is there any other cables that go to the brain that i need thanks
