Question Bass guitar amp hooked up to car?

I have a bass guitar amp that says 8 Ohms Max 50 W on the back of the speaker when I take it out. I used this amp when I played my bass guitar which I dont do anymore. You obviously have to plug it into the wall but I was wondering if I could hook it up to my truck. At the back of the speaker it has two leads that run to one wire which then goes into the amp where you can adjust volume and such. Would this be possible? Also this is a nice compact flat speaker so it would fit very nicely behind the seat of my s10. The s10 is very small and I car/audio guy came to look and he said it would be really tricky because the speakers he has are too big and wont fit because you need to also put the speaker in a box. I am a newbie at this and I would appreciate the help i can get. Also i am looking to save money on this project. The guy said I couldnt really do it, but I dont take no for an answer. My s10 is small but w/e, anything is possible.

the short answer is that it *could* be done.... but it's not a very good idea....

You'd need a power inverter, and are 100X better off just buying a 12v amplifier...

thanks haunz for your quick reply! I am new to this but i understand wat the power inverter does but I am sayin can i just junk the amp that comes with the sub and then buy like one from canadian tire and just wire it to the actual sub speaker itself. The new speakers you can buy tend to be more bulky and will prob not fit very well behind my seats. Also the money issue, i dont wanna spend a lot. The speaker that i unscrewed from my bass amp is about 10 inches in diameter but very thin width wise, so it will fit in that tight crack, thats why i would want to use it. I am very willing to buy an amp, can you tell me a model that would work with my shitty sub speaker. If the amp could be purchased at canadian tire or best buy or any well known store like that it would be great for convenience. I do not like ordering stuff online.

chances are the woofer that came in your bass cabinate would not make a very good subwoofer.... It will lack Xmax and powerhandeling... not that you will get very much power out of a car amp running at 8ohms either....

I've seen countless systems in S-10s... inexpensive low power subs will generally fit... look for some used JLW0's or the cheapie 10" subs kenwood or sony has at canadian tire....

if you can afford an amp, you should look for a 1/2 decent sub to go with it....

No this is not my truck in the pic, im sorry to dissapoint you. I will be getting a picture of my truck soon. Can someone tell me if this JBL package from canadian tire is any good. And will it just be good, or is it gunna sound really nice in my little truck. I want it to turn heads a bit, but not be to intense, im using my stock speakers in it, i just want the subwoofer for bass cuz there is no subwoofer in it allready haha. Also would two of these 10 inchers work amazing side by side in the back. Please tell me your opinions, thank you..
