breaking in subs

hello , there is no such thing as breaking in subs like what others said because a sub would get weaker as the suspension travels up and down through time and get alot more sloppier. I have heard alot of type X blow up because they are over rated of thier actual specs but ya more power to them the better and dont under power them

under power them by what margin? Im pushing 918 @ 2 ohms, and it's rated for 1000. I'm assuming that's fine..?

A sub does not get stronger as time goes on, what is there to break in?....sound MAY change over a break in period, but power handling does not, if it's going to blow on day one with (for example) 1000watts, then it's going to blow on day 30 with that same 1000watts
I did not blow my sub by over powering it, I broke the voice coil loose causing it to rattle. My local shop would not replace the sub because they said I didn't give it a proper break in. And yes I have changed subs brands and stereo shops.
