Clarion speakers

Well this is my first post so i hope this is the right section...

I just got a 2001 Chevy Silverado Duramax and the guy before me had some clarion speakers installed in it with just the stock deck.

Clarion Canada | SSS601

These are basically the same speakers but i think they are either the 2005 or 06 models. But anyway when i had the stock deck in the one speaker on the driver side made sort of a farting noise i guess you would call it, it almost sounded like it was blown but it also has a static noise too. I installed my pioneer deh-p680mp deck ad it still does it. I also don't have any RCA cables or other amps in the truck yet.

I took off the door panels took out the speaker and it looked fine, could it be the crossover that is fried or something else like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you press on the cone of the woofer, and theres a scratchy sound and you can feel it, means the speaker is pooched. Nice fridge magnet...

k thanks for the info, but earlier today i was working on my truck and decided to turn on the radio and i turned up my volume to about 30-35 and the sound went away.

It seems that it only makes it when its at a low volume, but if i have too ill go and buy a new set of speakers.
