Clarion sub, exile amp wiring questions
Hey everyone,
I picked up a clarion PXW1052 10" sub from audio heaven at performance world, and I'm looking into wiring it up. It is 500w rms@4 ohm. Also has dual voice coils
my amp is an exile s500.1 monoblock which is 250rms@4ohm and 500w rms@2ohm
how do I wire the sub to get 2ohm, and will it hurt the sub or amp? I can't seem to find any specs about this sub anywhere aside from whats printed on the box.
Also I need to know thr required air volume and port size needed for this setup
thanks in advance
and thanks to Andre at audio heaven for being a great help (I'm the guy with the smartcar by the way haha)

Your sub has two 4 ohm voice coils. You need to wire it in parallel. This means to wire the + of each coil together and then to the amp. Then repeat for the - . So wire + to + and then to the + terminal of the amp. Then take the - wire to the next - and to the - terminal on the amp. This makes the sub a 2 ohm load and a safe load for your amp to drive.

Nothing in the box or on the Clarion site for it? If no, contact the seller and ask them to get you the info for it. They are a very helpful shop and should have it on hand. I am not a Clarion dealer and do not have the information for you at this time.
