A couple questions regarding setup.

Hey guys/girls,

New to the site and wanted to introduce my self. My name is Mark, I drive a 91 Honda Civic CX hatch and just want a sound system with some bass. I'm a noob to this so please don't flame lol

Right now I got a Alpine CDA-117 head unit, 2x 4" Alpine type S front speakers, 2x 6.5" type S speakers as for my rear speakers. Picked up a dirt cheap BNIB 10" Type R subwoofer but not yet installed and is collecting dust haha.

As you can see I'm pretty much stuck with alpine so I would like to keep it all alpine products. Purchased every single thing from Best Buy BNIB . So I was wondering what you guys would recommend for my setup with the stuff I already got. I don't plan to go with more subs in the future just going to stick with what I got now. I was planning to go with a Alpine 1 Channel MRP-M500 amp with a 1.5 capacitor.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance !

Your best bet is to get a custom ported box built for your Type R for the best SQ.

And if you got a mono amp, See if you can find an amp to match the RMS on your sub. There are many brands out there.

Some of the more "Basic" brands are MTX and Hifonics.

Think you can fit bigger speakers in the front? If you have 4" in the front and 6.5" in the back, I'm pretty sure most of the music will come from the back.

See if you can fit bigger speakers in the front, But you might have to cut some of the door.

Thank you for your input. I've been reading online and it has been done before with 6.5 just gotta do some mods with the door panel.

If you buy some 6.5's for the front, Make sure you know the width inside the door so everything clears without making contact.

I suppose you will be looking into Alpine 6.5's ?
