Custom firmware (android?) JVC headunit

Hey all,

I have been trying to find someone who has flash custom firmware onto a car stereo.. I have a JVC KW-AV60BT and I know that updates can be flashed on via the usb port. Surely this means you could flash on something different - I'd love to see android running on it.

Any thoughts/ideas?

The first step you'd need to do is find all of the hardware details of your HU, such as processor, graphics processor, etc... then check those against the android compatibility listing. I briefly looked through the KW-AV60BT's product page but found no mention of such technical details. My personal thought is that it'd be a LOT of work bug fixing and custom coding to get android setup the way you're hoping. Maybe someone has already gone through all this work and you can just use their code, but who knows. If not done right you could brick your HU, so be careful.
