Well that is a crossover an ACTIVE crossover. it is for crossing the sound while at preout level (using RCA connectors prior to the amplifier). The active unit is powered by 12VDC and will require an amplifier to power the tweeters and an amplifier to power the woofer
The product im used to those little plastic boxes with coil's in em lol..yea im new,,thanx lads
here you are talking about, and the one I think you are looking for, is a passive crossover between the tweeter and the woofer it takes output from the amplifier and splits the frequencies to the woofer and the tweeter and will require you to purchase wires to the woofer and tweeter

In my opinion this is the best way to go. It will require an extra amp (or a 4 channel one) but I think the flexibility is worth it. There are almost always improvements in sound quality too.

well... if you dont have the Focal passive crossovers then you either need to aquire a passive crossover that meets the Focal specifications OR go to an active crossover and do as Keven mentioned.

I will not go so far as to say active is better for you... that's your call as each has advantages. The active setup is generally considered more advanced (and complicated) and it is generally a more expensive route. But it can do things the passive just cant do to make the speakers sound there best and it makes you ready to perform future upgrades on the fly.

The passive is simple, easy, and overall less expensive (better for a noob). It is my opinion that the correct passive will sound phenomenal and will be equal to active but the incorrect passive will be disappointing.

I am running an active/ passive hybrid system (home made passive network) so I really like both if done correctly

They will work but wont be optimal. Then again the originals were probably not optimal for your application. I'd try them out and see how they sound. Wont damage anything at a reasonable volume.
