Sorry if I was misleading. The originals were designed to work in any car but obviously it's impossible to make them perfect for every car. The only way to get it optimal for your car is to design, build, test and tweak your own. That said, the crossover frequency of 4.3k is probably fine. The tweeter is the only concern when it comes to potential damage and the new crossover frequency is no cause for alarm. The only down side here is it might not optimize the performance of the speakers regarding slope and crossover frequency.

The x2i is an older unit but will work fine (it's been replaced by the KX2). It's a stereo unit so you will only need one. You can use your existing amp for the tweeters but you will need another for the woofers. What size is your existing amp?

You will need:
  • one amp for the sub
  • 4 amp channels for the front components
Whether you use a single 4 channel amp for the front or two 2 channel amps makes no difference. Seeing as you already have one 2 channel amp (RF P200) you might as well just get one more amp. I believe that amp will drive 50 watts into 4 ohms so if you get another amp buy one the same size or a little bigger. Use the bigger one for the woofers.

Yep. One 2way electronic crossover, two amps, and one set of component speakers. All this is for the front.

Plus the existing subwoofer setup of course, it will remain unchanged. The subwoofers were not included in the diagrams in my last post.
