it is generally not a good idea to run near speaker wires although if your getting noise from the car when the stereo is paused then i dont think this could be casuing your problem...

id try getting some good well sheilded RCA cables and re route them away from any power cables including power cables for other systems in the car.

Grounds are usually the problem, but you checked all that so that can't be it.

Is the noise still there when you unplug RCA's from the amp?

when the rca's are unpluged there is no noise......

rcas run by themselves all the way from head unit up to about 2 feet from the amp.....then they run behind the sub and hook into the amp and dthe power cable on the amp have inputs neer the rca's

eliminate the deck out of the system by pluggin some type of mp3 player into an rca at the deck's end, see what happens.

as far as wires crossing, it might be okay and sometimes not. if you do have to do it, cross them at a 90 angle or something close. I did get some nasty whines, slightly repositioned rca over power wire and fine now.

Everytime I hear somebody saying they have whinning or whatnot in they're speakers, Pioneer decks are always mentioned.. I'm so glad I stayed away from them..
