Funny thing is, I've asked people on two other forums at the same time as posting this one... and one of the two forums have already answered my question... but out of morbid curiousity, I decided to hold out to get a second opinion... and this forum has been completely useless. Either way, I'm NOT splicing into my wires, thats not happening... period. As for what I will be doing, is that the guy on a viper forum, who has his stereo installed and working fantastic, has been using it like this for 1.5 years, without problems. But just to be 100% certain that this will work, I'd rather risk a 90$ head unit, before my 1200$ one... I'm sure you'd feel the same way. Especially when there isn't anyone on this forum saying "yes" or "no" to the question "Is it alright to hook up pre-outs from a head unit to the same ground?" Obviously from this picture, it is:

Thanks anyway though.

I'm shooting for cheap/stubborn - He seems to think a Dodge holds its value!

He has his answer and apparently us civic and corolla owners are completely useless.

Extremely stubborn, and I have a major trust issue with shops. I took my old GrandAM GT to one once before, to have a 2 way alarm pager system installed, as I have never installed one before (as it had a built in starter too). When i got the car back, there was a huge crack in the dashboard... the one I took off at least a dozen times before. They said "Sorry, we can order you a new one if you want" Which isn't a big deal on a peice of like a grand am, but on a viper.... first of all, I don't even know if Mopar stocks the dash kit anymore for an 01, and if they do... it's not the orginal one. That being said, yeah, i'm stubborn. Besides, I'd rather do it myself, than give some goof, who has less experience than me, end up doing it the way I don't want it to be done.

btw, 1992 Viper's original sticker price - 100,000. 2001 viper original sticker price 112,000.

Current 92 vipers are going for approximately 50,000 for a mint, low km model.
Current 01 vipers are going for approximately 50,000 for a mint, low km model.

After a certain point, they stop depreciating in value... and they may even appreciate, as the vipers get phased out by Chrysler. Even if they don't go up, and stay the same... I get to drive a sweet *** car for a couple years. I have no regrets. To each their own; I'm not here to compare vehicles.

and what i said was to go and do some real research. like i said there are some very trusted shops that dont just have stupid kids fing around i do understand that. our shop handles cars like yours every day ( well the same value and much more )
we dont hack anything questions are alwas asked, we dont asume anything, you have to remmeber to do the research i agree with you not to just guive it to someone !
the best thing to do is contach some of the exotic automotive repair shops the usually have shops that they trust. and i would really listen to what they have to say.

Thanks methodman0666 and avidedtr, if I give up on doing this myself, and really want my stereo installed, i'll do that.
