Dumb little lights
One of my biggest pet peeves with my stereo is the dumb little "power on" blue lights on the top of my amps. The Soundstream has 4!!! totally lights up the back of the van
Can I simply snip the 2 wires on each bulb and get rid of them, without any problems
all the amps also have protect/power light on the ends, I`ll keep those, but the top lights have to go!!

I gave some thought to that DS. Would work great with the SS. The 4 lights are under the logo/blue trim ring. So if I blacked them out that could work. I plan on replacing the logo with my own "cap" anyway.
Could block them out also I guess.
The USA amps are a different story. I'm going for a smooth and clean look, the XT's light comes out about 1/4" off the top of the amp, I've removed the name plate, and now I have a clean look except the lil bulb and the 2 white wires ,drawing the eye to it.
Really messes up the look I'm going for.
Any chance removing the bulb would cause it to go into protect

How easy is it to get access to it in the heatsink? Just take it out, paint over it and replace... Just use a thick enough paint that if you choose to sell the amp afterward, it can be scraped off with your finger nail or something. 
Maybe a small pc of decal vinyl to match amp color for the flush ones???

lol, ya... electrical tape, duck tape, gorilla tape... I just thought vinyl would be a cleaner touch and stick better. 
What color are the amps and how big a pc you need to cover it? I've got a lil black and silver vinyl around, I'll mail to a couple pcs.

The SS seams easy after the suggestions, just have to pick what I'll actually do.
Maybe paint the lights and add a smoked glass / beveled edge circle...ie cup coaster?? lol replace that sad SS turantula .. I think i can get this one looking good
To get to the US amps light, I'll need to take it the main board out.
I'd be fine with cutting the wires though, I probably won't ever sell them, they'll be back ups or smoked before that...
I don't really like the idea of simple covering it with another "off" looking covering.
In the dream world, I would fill in the hole and raise the lowered fins and repaint!!
What would I use though, body filler? The sanding...That would be cool but sounds like too much fine detail work for my abilities

If you want to see if the amp works without the lights connected, just snip off one wire that goes to them and see how the amp reacts. If it still works, you're good to go.
For your US amps, here's an idea on how to fill that gap if you do remove the light. Plus up the hole from the bottom with some tape or something. Then get something like metal flat bars, or another pretty hard and non-absorbant material that you can stick there and coat it with a bit of vaseline or other release agent and wedge it on either side of the gap in those heatsinks. Then, poor some epoxy / resin / bondo into the hole that is left to fill it up.
Once cured, you should be left with a fairly solid chunk of epoxy / resin /bondo and should only have some minimal sanding to do, and mostly from the top down. (if it works). And then you'll be good to paint to get everything to match up !
