Head Unit's with a mic for the EQ.
Some HU's come with a seperate mic to get the EQ exact for inside the car. Well I guess Exactly for what it thinks it should be. But not really for what the person might want?
I'm am just wondering if anyone has tried this or if it is anygood at all. Or basically useless.

This can actually be a incredibly powerful tool when used properly. Eclipse for example allows you to take that infomation and utilize their ei-serve network and play away to your hearts content with changes to pretty much anything you want. Download it back into the cd player, presto chango it is way different yet again. It allows you to make changes and then continually re-evaluate what is going on in your vehicle.

That sounds really interesting how Eclipse has that layed out.
I'm thinking of getting the Alpine 9887 when it comes out, you can buy a special mic for it to use with the "MultiEQ" Feature on the deck.
And the deck also has a 7 band EQ in it. So I should have lots of adjustment either way .

My 8600MP has the mic capability, it does auto time alignment and auto-eq adjustments. The auto time alignment did quite a bit, once I ran it, I noticed that before I used it the bass from my sub was off by milliseconds, I could tell after I ran it. The auto EQ makes it sound better than having no EQ, but going and fine-tuning it to your liking is better.
