How do I take apart 2006 Corolla CE dash for a HU?

I just got a 2006 Corolla CE edition, I am wondering if anyone here knows what to take apart so I can take the old crappy stock CD player out and put in a aftermarket deck.

Perfect instructions, thanks! seems it is very easy to install an aftermarket deck in this car. Not many things to take apart...

All you need to do is analyze the door panel, look for all the screws, if you have manual windows, they are tricky but nothing you cant handle and then after all that is taken care of the panel should just popoff from its clips.

1. Open up one of the front side doors.
locate the little square cover in the middle of the door handle
This is just a flap that covers one of the retaining screws. Pry up the side closest to the lock (with the notch cut out for this purpose) using the tiny flathead (I didn't actually have such a tool, so I just carefully used the point of a knife... but a tiny flathead would work very nicely). Push it out of your way (but don't remove it... the piece is permanently attached to the interior on one side), and use your phillips-head screwdriver to remove the retaining screw.

2. Using a flathead screwdriver, pry up around the armrest and remove that.
Continue prying around the door lock/window control panel. Disconnect the cables, and remove that as well. Finally, using the phillips-head screwdriver, remove the two retaining screws around the armrest.

3.Using firm pressure (and not too much muscle), pry off the door panel around the perimeter of the door. Once all 8 of the clips have been popped out, lift the panel straight up (along the window), and it should come free. Set it aside.

I got that from some blog a long time ago and saved it in my email. I hope that helps. I know it helped me when I was installing mine.

Something those Metra dash instructions leave out is to be prepared for the face of the radio to come along with the bezel!!

The bezel actually snaps into the radio face (dumb) so you either have to be ultra careful or just realize it is going to happen and deal with it when it does. Just be careful after the face separates from the deck and you will be able to put it back on with no real damage.

When I took out my radio, the bezel stayed on the radio. The only things that came off was essentially the vents and that was one solid piece.
