Hi friends

I have Toyota Camry 1997. Already an original toyota car stereo is installed in it. I have bought a nextar car stereo just because it has a usb jack in it and I can play my mp3 player in my car. I was trying to install car stereo but I didnot find any way to remove previously installed toyota stereo. Can any guide me how to remove previous one and how to installed new one.

I have the same car and its pretty simple to install a deck.

First you will need to get a deck installation kit and an adapter wiring harness, if you have not already. Just make sure you get the right vehicle.

Now to take the dash apart:

1. Lift up the plastic part around the shifter. Its just held in by clips. If it wont come up put tape on a flat head screwdriver and slide it under.

2. Unplug the wires for the lighter and take out the ash tray.

3. Now for the front panel around the deck. For this part you have to be really careful not to break the plastic. Its a really stupid design and it will **** you off a lot lol. You have to pull from the bottom and just try to release all the clips. There are two on the bottom, 1 on the middle left, and 2 on the top. I dont have much advice for taking this off but just be careful.

4. There are 4 screws holding the factory deck in place. Just take them out, pull the deck out, unplug the wires, and there you go.

Just follow the directions now in the installation kit and you should be fine.
